In this module, we learn about building services, how these components functions in a building and how it has contribute in ensuring an efficient, safe and functional building. We learnt six main components, the air conditioning systems, fire protection systems (active and passive), mechanical transportation system, mechanical ventilation system, electrical system, and piping systems. We started of with a project that studies on a public building's building services by carrying out site visits and research. The second project is about understanding how the components in electrical systems and piping systems, details and technical of its drawing and placement of system.

REFLECTION
The module expanded our knowledge regarding building services in public building. Throughout the module, I've realized the importance and contribution of building services, in order to sustain and enhance a building's performance. A lot of systems, procedures, and details goes into building services, and it has to be acknowledged and knowing the importance of it so it could facilitate us in designing our building, with the considerations of building services. A balance has to be found when designing a building, properly catering for the equipment and systems needed for a certain allocation of space. I find this module beneficial and really has widened my horizon with what building is all about instead of what we usually see on the exteriors. It made me have a deeper understanding towards the systems and most importantly serves as a great awareness whenever comes to designing a project in future.
