|| The Brief
||Design Intention
A textile hub.

The design intention is to utilize an existing material, an essence to be reintroduced to the eyes of the youth and the community. The textile industry, being one of the prominent product that juggles between its variation of usage and clogged in the streams of streets- it has progressively became stagnant to the business. Its condition has deteriorate the potentials of textile, being a part of our culture remained untouched and unexplored. Textile has been a part of all of everyday lives, yet taken for granted with what it could be implemented as a learning tool, means of expression in arts represented in different forms, texture and colors. The hub is established to celebrate the beauty of textile, its amplification of its longing existence and transformation through time. The hub targets the younger generation in order the restore and reintroduced a new energy that livens up not only its place, but also the textile industry. The use of textile, being an activity that brings people together, and recognizing the community itself. The design intends to utilize landscape and open spaces as a main integration, encapsulating spaces. The design is meant to streamline life into the space and define human activities, accentuating the beauty in fabric that ties the community together, establishing a collaborative living and working environment. The hub encompasses spaces like:

A gallery space, where it showcases the role, process and importance of textile; A co-working environment, in both private and public settings that accommodates to one’s comfort and convenience;
A flea market, that sheds light to the handmade products of textile;
A cafe, that draws the lingering of human presence in livening up the space.
