BUILDING SCIENCE II

| BLD61403 |

This module covers topics such as the understanding of acoustic design, sound properties, as well as lighting design in order to accentuate the design in our work. Thus, we started off with a case study project of an auditorium, understanding the applications of acoustic design in real life settings, and how it benefit its condition based on its functionality. The final project is an integration with our final design studio. With the knowledge of lighting, we applied it into our design to enhance the experiences in the space.

PROJECT 1:
Auditorium: A case study on acoustic design
PROJECT 2:
Lighting Integration Project

REFLECTION

The knowledge of acoustic design and lighting has been a scope that has yet to be further discover. The introduction of this module shaped my understanding of these two aspects in architecture, as well as be more sensitive in both acoustic and lighting, how it is able to enhance the experience in spaces. It expands the possibility of elevating the spatial quality through the channel of acoustic and lighting. It was great to know how we could find more ways to make architecture more efficient, more dynamic, and more interesting, to accommodate the various needs and experiences for users. I thought the knowledge obtained from this module was useful in facilitate in future design considerations
